  my wife is upstairs on the phone with her ultra nutty mom (the gb = jehovah kind of lady) begging us to get active again....or we will die at armageddon.

  please help me out here .. in genesis 2:16 it says " and jehovah god also laid this command upon the man: from every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction.

  17 but as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it , for in the day you eat from it ,you will positively die.. ok we get that , but what about this ?.

  wouldnt it make more sense to forbid the eating of the tree of life first ?

  this went bad, i hit click before i could post my thoughts about the fear factor going through our crazy kingdom hall.

  the title of this thread was aimed at asking why the governing body is becoming so afraid and demanding the elders and rank and file to put their trust in the dukes of the kingdom hall.

  12-13-14 only makes sense in American date conventions too: in Australia that date would read 13/12/14. Not a lot of sense since for most of the world that date will not read 12-13-14.

  a chilliwack, b.c., family is furious with the rcmp for failing to return their 15-year-old daughter after police found the runaway teen at a downtown vancouver hotel.. jeff wier and candis mccarville-wier are the legal guardians for cassidy mccarville; candis is also her biological mother.

  the teen became a jehovahs witness two years ago but her parents are not followers, and that has been a point of strife between cassidy and her parents.. candis says her daughter has taken the religion too far preaching door to door instead of doing her school work.

  I converted in my teens and was always off with my new 'friends'. That and the whole being a jw thing and pissing on family celebrations like Xmas created a lot of tension between me and my family. With everyone saying my family were evil and being used by Satan to get me, combined with a big dose of teenage rebelion, I too wanted to run away at times. I actually did once, but my mother talked me into coming back. I understand why this girl has done what she has done. It doesn't make it right though. It will be many many years before she wakes up, if she ever does.

  i was going to pick out a few highlights but really, you need to watch the whole thing - it's only 23 minutes.

  Teach it in religion, history, art, literature and philosophy. It's a humanities topic, not a scientific one. Just like you wouldn't teach creative writing or the colour wheel in an algebra class, or how to repair a car motor in English.
